A Place We Cannot Go

Jeff Richardson "Can any part of life be larger than life?
Even love must be limited by time
And those who push us down that they might climb
Is any killer worth more than his crime?

Like a steely blade in a silken sheath
We don’t see what they’re made of
They shout about love, but when push comes to shove
They live for the things they’re afraid of

And the knowledge that they fear
Is a weapon to be used against them…"

Ek dink jy gaan beter voel sonder haar pel. Byt vas. Dankie dat jy jou ontrafeling sonder filtrasie met ons deel. --LD Favorite track: Platitudes.

TheEliteExtremophile A Place We Cannot Go is an emotionally intense record. The songwriter’s internal anguish is evident across these seven songs. Post-rock is a good vessel, as it often plays with harsh tones and sharp contrasts, and those facets are utilized excellently.

dharmalogos Lately a number of heavy bands have made some ambient-leaning music. But while those bands take after Dark Side of the Moon, Kameron Boggs' new direction is more akin to The Wall. This music doesn't vibe and chill. This music cries and screams and shakes like a silent panic attack. It's not pretty. It's not mellow. But you don't expect pretty from An Isolated Mind. This isn't the blackened death metal of I'm Losing Myself or the post-metal of Self-Titled. It's something undefinable. Recommended. Favorite track: Platitudes.

David Fischer An Isolated Mind strikes, as his music itself always has, surprisingly and out of the blue. A Place We Cannot Go might be the most vunerable and fragile music Kameron has presented us yet, and I can only bow down and simultaneously stare in amazement of how moving and infectious this music is. An Isolated Mind is one of my all-time favourite albums, especially the last two tracks always do something special with my mind. Time and many spins will tell where A Place We Cannot Go takes us. I'm in. Favorite track: Mourning.

Jake W. When I saw that Kameron was back I was quite excited to see where things would go this time. I'm amazed at the bravery, vulnerability, and raw power of this album. Bravo. Favorite track: A Place We Cannot Go.

Cold Day 05:41
Today I wondered if I'll ever see you again Today seemed colder than it ever had been You played on repeat in the recess of my mind You seemed to get a little less real every time I see a life where you don't And I don't want to hold that over you I see life where you don't And I don't want to hold that over you

All you see as real Is what you cannot accept All of its unreal So I cannot accept Everything is real So we have to accept All

Platitudes 03:37
Raging rivers always seem to go dry When you least expect it But that's just the way that it is Raging rivers always seem to go dry When you need them the most But that's just the way that it goes Raging rivers… Go dry (Incoherent anger)
6.
What is it about the way that you taste What is it about the lies that you tell Born from a place deep inside my gut You were bathed in your own guilt You were trained by the other to obey no one The truth was not enough to set you free The truth was not enough to set me free The truth was not enough to set us free
